Airfare / travel costs
In the majority of cases, the au pair is
responsible for all international travel costs. Some countries
require the host family to pay for the return journey (Refer to the
Visa and
Regulations section for your destination country for further
information).
Some families, who aren't required to do so, may choose to pay
for the return sector after an agreed period of successful
performance. If the host family lives in a remote location, it
would be courteous for them to pay for transfers to and from the
nearest airport, or alternatively pick the au pair up
personally.
** Please NEVER send money in advance to an au pair to pay for
their travel costs. These requests are likely to be a scam.
TheBestAupair recommends that you reimburse the au pair when they
arrive, or after a probationary period.
